TechNet Live 2009 @ World Forum, Den Haag.

Today (8 October 2009) I attended with some of my colleagues the Microsoft TechNet Live – Join the new efficiency at the World Forum Den Haag, the Netherlands.  We arrived a little bit too late to see Steve’s  Ballmer keynote about “The New Efficiency” because of the traffic jams but we could catch Tony Krijnen and Daniel van Soest “Windows 7 – Seeing is believing” keynote which was great, as you could expect from this duo 🙂 After the lunch there were some breakout sessions. I attended the following:

  1. Optimized Communication: What’s new in Exchange 2010 by Brandon Hoff. This was rather informative session. I already played with Exchange 2010 so there were no new things for me to discover.
  2. Optimized Workplace: Windows 7 deployment strategies by Tiander Turpijn. It was a nice and informative breakout session. Tiander spoke about different deployment methods, their impact on your organization and he gave some tips about accessing the Windows 7 deployment.
  3. Optimized Datacenter: Optimizing Windows Server Infrastructure by Martin Sih. Martin and his team had some internet connection trouble obviously, because he couldn’t show us the demo’s he prepared. Anyway, it was a short, informative session about the System Center Components.

And that’s it. It was getting late so we decided to hit the road. After 3 hours of driving and evaluating this event with my colleagues on our way home, we have summarized this event as informative. We expected some more tech info. More best practices and tips & tricks. Anyway, the guys at Microsoft did a great job to put this all together. I’m looking forward to the next TechNet Live!

Oh yeah! I’ve scored an “I am the new efficiency” t-shirt, some TechNet Magazines and Windows 7 Ultimate x86-32 and x86-64 edition! 🙂

Cheers!
