Dutch VMUG 2011 – recap.

Just like in 2010, the Dutch VMUG event was held once again at NBC in Nieuwegein. More than 700 VMware enthusiasts gathered this day to attend the sessions and the workshops. The agenda was full of good sessions so it was hard to choose a session to attend. Luckily, some sessions were repeated. Here is a small recap of the sessions and the workshop that I attended. The opening session was (as always) presented by […]

VCP5 Exam Experience.

Today, I passed the VMware VCP-510 exam at The Academy in Eindhoven and here are my thoughts about this exam. The exam consists of 85 questions, mostly multiple-choice and some with an exhibit. No simulations. You’ll get 90 minutes to answer the questions and additional 30 minutes if you are not a native English speaker. Anyway, I think the VCP-510 exam is quite fair. The exam blueprint covers all topics. The questions are different as […]

New Sponsor: Veeam

If you’re into virtualization, you must have heard about Veeam. I remember it well, the first time I used Veeams’ free tool FastSCP back in 2007 to connect to my ESX 3.x hosts. Since then, I always looked forward to new products from Veeam. Here is a small overview of the Veeam company profile and their products. Company Veeam Software, an Elite VMware Technology Alliance partner, develops innovative products for virtual infrastructure management and data […]

VMworld 2011 Copenhagen – Day 1

Sunday evening, I arrived in Copenhagen and checked in the CABINN Metro hotel. When I was walking through the airport, I saw these cool posters VMware and other vendors put all over the place 🙂 Check it out! Day one at VMworld 2011 started nice and quiet. I arrived at 8:30, registered, received my backpack and went inside to explore the place. There were no interesting partner sessions so I decided to go straight to […]
